An attorney from South Carolina was recently arrested for horrific and disgusting charges. South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office announced the arrest of an attorney from Aiken.
54-year-old William Daniel Mayes was arrested and received seven charges relating to child exploitation. According to reports, William was arrested on October 29th after the Aiken County Sheriff’s office received a cyber tip line report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. During the investigation, it was discovered that William recorded someone without their consent and he also had child essay material in his possession.
William’s law license was suspended on Friday by the South Carolina Supreme Court and that was after his arrest.
Reportedly, authorities searched a Dropbox account that he claimed as his own and they found four videos. One depicted a teen girl who was between the ages of 12 and 14. Another reportedly showed a girl who was between the ages of 8 and 10 and she was completely nude. There was another video of a girl with no shirt on and she was between the ages of 12 and 14. Furthermore, another video was of a man kneeling over a teen girl and that girl was between the age of 12 and 14. Authorities said that this video suggested evidence of sexual activity.
On October 29th, authorities searched his home and found an external hard drive in a bedroom that had a video of a teenage girl around the age of 12 to 14 getting dressed. He obviously had an age preference.
William reportedly admitted to having these files as well as recording videos. He admitted to all of it.
