Looking for Man in FinanceLooking for Man in Finance

A 19-second video featuring a woman singing about her quest for a tall, blue-eyed finance guy with a trust fund has gone popular on TikTok. What began as a satire has now developed into a mainstream phenomenon, with people making their own renditions and DJs remixing the catchy lyrics.

Under the username @Girl_on_couch, TikToker Megan Boni uploaded the original video on April 30. In the video, Boni sings in an imitation of a British accent, saying, “I’m looking for a man, I’m looking for a man, I’m looking for a finance, trust fund.” 6’5″, with azure eyes trust fund, blue eyes, 6’5″, and finance.

The film, according to 26-year-old New Yorker Boni, was intended to be a satire and parody that made fun of certain women’s dating habits. It was a complete spoof. Satire permeates everything I do on TikTok,” she said to The Daily Beast. Being unmarried during her friends’ marriages served as motivation, as did her desire to mock women who had excessively detailed checklists for possible spouses.

But the internet went crazy over Boni’s lyrics right away because they were so catchy and relevant. The original video has received over 10.6 million views in the last week, and DJs have begun turning the sound into full-length songs. Stars such as FINNEAS and podcaster Alex Cooper of “Call Her Daddy” have also shown interest in the movement.

Boni is accepting of the viral response even though it surprises her. According to her, the BBC has even asked her to record another verse, and at least twenty DJs have asked about the exclusive rights to the lyrics. With the intention of using the publicity to enhance her comedic career, Boni wants to make an appearance on “Saturday Night Live.”
