The 31 years old former One direction star tragically died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 16th October.

His father has travelled to Argentina, to arrange his son’s repatriation. Liam’s body could remain in Argentina for 10-15 more days while toxicology tests are completed, according to sources of a newspaper from Argentina.

After that, his remains will be returned to his family in the UK allowing the funeral to possibly go ahead early next month.

Liam Payne’s Autopsy Report

The results of Liam Payne’s autopsy report say, he fell from the balcony not that he jumped as was previously reported. Per his autopsy, 31 years old Liam Payne died of polytrauma and internal and external bleeding. The prosecutor’s office called his death “doubtful/undetermined” meaning there was no conclusive information about the cause of death.

In a statement the Security Ministry of Buenos Aires said “Liam had jumped from the balcony of his room,” however now with the autopsy results, it has been determined that he fell, not jumped. According to the autopsy report results, “forensic experts found a total of 25 injuries compatible with those produced by a fall from height, the singer’s brain and skull injuries in particular were sufficiently suitable to cause of death. The internal and external hemorrhages in his skull, chest, abdomen and limbs contributed to the mechanism of death.”

It also appears was Liam was alone when he fell, his hands show no defensive wounds, meaning another party didn’t intervene. Per the prosecutor’s office “everything indicates that the musician was alone when the fall occurred and that he was going through some kind of breakdown a result of substance abuse.”. Prosecutor’s office also quote, “the position of his body did not adopt a reflective posture to protect himself and that he could have fallen in the state of semi or total unconsciousness.”.

Results from the toxicology screening are still pending, so they are waiting to determine exactly what substances Liam had consumed prior to his death. But by all accounts it seems like he was under the influence of some kind of substance and that led him to act erratically and eventually fall to his death. He was not pushed, no one else was there and he was likely unconscious by the time he was falling.
